Psalm 37:7 Illustrated Print

from SGD 5.00

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” — Psalm 37:7 NKJV

How many times do we often get frustrated because things didn’t go the way we thought or expected? And sometimes, the things we thought or expected to happen are actually good things — maybe it’s growth, or for someone to do something that brings good change, or even an opportunity we thought would help fix a situation we didn’t cause, but found ourselves in.

But when it doesn’t happen, we get frustrated — or as this Psalm keeps saying, we begin to fret. We start to worry, to doubt, and even wonder if God was really there. Was He listening? Is He even aware? Or maybe… does He not care? 🥹

But the truth is — real rest doesn’t come when the situation changes. We’re not looking for an outcome to finally be at rest, or to finally feel fulfilled.

Our hope is in the Lord.
That’s what the Psalmist reminds us — trust in the Lord and rest in Him.
Hope in the Lord and do good.
Keep hoping in Him — not in the circumstances, not in the outcome changing.

That might be a tough pill to swallow for many of us. But we have to reflect and ask ourselves honestly: is our hope really in the Lord?

Or is it in a set of circumstances, or an outcome we’re waiting for?

Let’s find rest in the Lord alone — not in what we see, not in what we want, but in Him. May this encourage your heart today to truly rest and hope in Him alone. 🤍
