Matthew 6:32-33 Illustrated Print

from SGD 5.00

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more valuethan they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
— Matthew 6:25-33 NKJV

Jesus is telling us that as believers, we have a Heavenly Father, and we don’t need to worry about having our needs met — whether it’s daily essentials, income, household expenses, food, groceries, or bills. These are our modern concerns, just like the physical needs of the people in Jesus’ time. Different era, same heart worries. Whether work goes well, whether provision comes through — it’s the same for us now.

But God is saying, “Hey, I will take care of you, because I’m your Father.” He knows what we need — and it’s His job to take care of us, not ours. He even takes care of the birds and the wildflowers — how much more will He take care of you? 💛

So if it’s God’s job to provide, then what’s our job?
Our job is to do His will 🙌

That’s what Jesus was teaching and modeling for us: if we truly know we are His children, then our needs will be met by our Father. As His sons and daughters — royalty 👑 — our role is to build His kingdom, to live out His purposes. We don’t need to chase after survival and be fearful. Let’s BE CHILDREN, and live not in fear or worry, but TRUST HIM, and seek to do His will.

(This reminder is for me too! 🥹) May this encourage you and remind you of who your Father is and that He WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU :)
